Lens Orientation

Vertical - The effect is apparent when you pivot the lenticular image from side to side (left to right or visa-versa), or at a lateral angle to the observer. This is the only orientation used for the 3D effect, and for large formats or items placed on the wall. The effect is viewed as you walk by.

Horizontal - The effect is visible when the lenticular is pivoted in a horizontal manner (up and down or visa-versa). Usually handheld items in smaller format.

Die Cutting

A lenticular sheet can be die cut as per your requirements. A dieline vector file should be supplied.

Back Lites

The lenticular film allows light to filter through and can therefore be backlit, creating a spectacular effect.

FILE requirements

Resolution
Images or photos: Minimum of 300 ppi (pixels/inch) in its final format.
Film or video: High definition (HD) or Ultra high definition (UHD).

To be avoided
Small fine fonts (less than 10 points).

Fine lines are difficult to reproduce.

A deep colour contrast between two successive images leaves behind a ghosting of the darker image onto the lighter one (making an undesired phantom effect).

Attachment/Inclusions
Attach the character font to be used or send as vector. Include the images and illustrations related to the documents.

Flip Effect
TIF (.tif) in RGB at final format. Add 0.125” bleed and double this format for large print. One document for each element incorporated in the Flip. It is always preferable to include the images as its own complete file (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), in case we need to access the file to maximize the quality of the text or graphic images in its final stage

3D Effect
Photoshop (.psd) in RGB at final format. Each layer or group of layers corresponds to a specific level of depth. Add at least 0.5” bleed (margin) on the right and left side of the image and 0.125” bleed at the top and bottom of your image, double is required for large format.

Avoid a solid background colour. The background must be textured or have a pattern to accentuate the depth effect.
Logos, text and main graphic elements must be on the principal focal layer/level to ensure clear legibility.

Verify that each layer is complete in itself. Each layer has a certain amount of displacement in comparison to its other layers, so it is important that once you close cut an item in your image, that you ensure that the layer in which you removed the item is filled in, as if the item was never there.

Animation Effect
Quick Time Movie (.mov) / Animated Gif (.gif) / MPEG Movie (.mpg) – High Definition (HD) or Ultra high definition (UHD) or Photoshop (.psd). Each layer or group of layers corresponds to a frame of the animation.

Add 0.125” bleed, double is required for large format.

If you need to add a logo or graphic elements to the animation file, you must supply the data as a PDF final format (including 0.125” bleed) so we can integrate the data.

If you are converting the file from a video, ensure that you do not use any form of compression which can alter the quality of the image.
